Meeting Information
State Meeting- March 2nd
Very Important information for those attending state!
Papa Murphy's Pizza Fundraiser
We are selling pizzas for a state fundraizer. Every pizza you sell adds $4 to your FCCLA balance which reduces the cost of state. Make sure before you begin selling you get familiar with the prices, and the different pizzas! You can get the 0rder form from Mrs. Rotering. Pizzas will be ready for pickup next Friday March 28. ALL ORDER FORMS AND MONEY ARE DUE ABSOLUTELY NO LATER THAN MONDAY MARCH 24. Checks are payable to G-E-T FCCLA.
Packet For State
Make sure that you get your packet for State from Mrs. Rotering asap. It is due next Wednesday, March 26. Inside the packet you find three forms that you will need to complete including: a permission slip, a pre-excused absense slip, and a form for the State Competition. These require signatures from your teachers, Mr. White, and your parents, so make sure you do this as soon as you can. This packet also contains a schedule of the State competition, a packing list, and other useful information.
More State Information
We will be leaving 8:00 monday morning without Mrs. Rotering, so make sure that you have everything you need from her by Friday. We will stop for lunch on the way there and the way back so bring money for that. Also official dress is required all three days, so it would be a good idea to bring more than one shirt. Also everyone will need to provide their own breakfast for Tuesday and Wednesday. This year we are staying in individual hotel rooms, so there will be no kitchen, only a fridge and a microwave. Another change this year is that for the Dinner on Tuesday night we will wear official dress, and the dance afterwards will be a "Blue Out." A t-shirt will be provided, but otherwise we would suggest bringing a pair of blue jeans.
February 3rd Meeting
Star Event Presentation Practice
If you did not present during the presentation practice after school on this date, Mrs. Rotering will request you during ELT to talk to you about your Star Event. She wants to see all events before Regionals!
Permission Slips for Regionals
If you were not at this meeting, then you will need to go get a packet with a permission slip, and information about Regionals from Mrs. Rotering. There will be two busses that leave on this day, and one leaves earlier than the other. You are going to need to see what bus you are supposed to be on. Also, the permission slips will be due next tuesday, February 11.
Soles for Souls
Brianna Stankey is doing a Star Event entitled Soles for souls. With this Star Event she must collect gently used shoes that will be donated to those that are less fortunate. So, if you have any gently used shoes that you would be willing to donate, bring them to Brianna Stankey in a bag by next tuesday, February 11, as well.
FCCLA WEEK!
Next week is FCCLA week, and we want to help promote FCCLA! Please wear your FCCLA apparel on tuesday to promote our club!
CTE Week
The last week in february is CTE (Career and Technical Education) Week. Once again we would like to show support for FCCLA and also Family and Consumer Science Education by wearing our FCCLA shirts on our day which is tuesday, February 25.

Regional Shirts
At Regionals you will have the opportunity to buy these shirts for ten dollars. Not only will you get a new shirt, but the profits will go to the charity New Horizons, so you will be helping a great cause!
January 10th Meeting
Planning Process Due Date is up!
Mrs. Rotering wants to see them as soon as possible. If you need help with this or any other part of your Star Event, go to Mrs. Rotering's room during Extended Learning Time.
Small group Star Event Practice Presentation
This year on February 3rd we will be practicing our Star Events after school in small groups to Mrs. Rotering and some teachers for feedback. This is to help prepare you for regionals, so it is important to have your Star Event finished as much as you can. You will have to sign up for a block of time to present your Star Event also.
Possible State Fundraisers
If you get a high enough score at Regionals and are able to move on to State, you are going to have to come up with a lot of money to pay for the trip. One way to bring this cost down is to get involved in a FCCLA Fundraiser. This year we are considering three options:
Selling Pizzas- We would have people pre-order Papa Murphy's Pizzas, and then deliver the pizzas to them on a Friday for example.
Selling Snack Sticks- These are a lot like beef sticks, and we would sell 5 different varieties which would be a dollar a piece.
Selling Pies- This is a fundraiser we have done in the past. It is very messy, but also a lot of fun. First we have people pre-order the pies, so we get an ideo of how many we have to make. Next, We would make the pies after school, and possibly on the weekend. Then we deliver them, and sell the extras.
With these fundraisers the more you sell, the more money you get in your FCCLA fund. Also, in the pie fundraiser you will get money for helping make the pies. We have not decided which fundraisers we will do for sure yet. Talk to Mrs. Rotering about what fundraiser(s) you prefer.
CTSO Night
CTSO or Career and Technical Student Organization is hosting a night at the Milwaukee Bucks game on January 25th. This trip would include SKILLS and FFA as well as FCCLA. It would be an all day event from approximately 10 AM to 1 AM that night. We would see presentations and meetings specific to FCCLA, and then go to the game. The cost would be around 35 dollars for transportation and a ticket. Talk to Mrs. Rotering if you are interested.
Next meeting we will be talking about a texting and driving project that would involve the whole student body
